Today, a regular meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences has taken place. The Director of the Institute, Academician Vagif Farzaliyev, first introduced to the staff the doctor of science in chemistry, associate professor Afsun Sujayev and PhD in chemistry, associate professor Mehpara Safarova, who were approved by the ANAS Presidium as deputy director for scientific work and scientific secretary. Then V.Farzaliyev noted that during the quarantine regime announced at the national level in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the institute headed by him and its team successfully worked in the “online” mode. He said that the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers had already taken certain measures to mitigate the regime since May 18, 2020, so employee attendance should be ensured: “But, since there is a limitation on the number of employees at work, first of all, employees with chronic diseases should be provided with benefits, and to comply with the 30 percent limit, we consider it appropriate that the employees of each laboratory and department come to work in turn. Because there are semi-annual reports ahead. Researchers should analyze and summarize the results of their research, summarize, write abstracts, articles, patents and prepare current reports.

V.Farzaliyev emphasized the importance of daily disinfection of the Institute’s working premises in compliance with the relevant rules, the use of social distance, protective masks, alcohol, antiseptic gel and other means by employees and gave specific instructions to the management of the technical department.
