Engineers from China have developed an unmanned vehicle that flies on Solar energy, reports Xinhua.

The development was called “Motszy-2” and took to the air at Deqing County Airport in East China.  The journey  took place without incident. The drone works exclusively with solar panels built into wings with a span of more than 15 meters. It can rise to a height of 8000 meters and, at low speed it is able to spend 12 hours in the air.

China intends to use the new development in the aftermath of natural disasters, as well as for communication and reconnaissance. In addition, the Mozzi-2 solar-powered drone also has military potential, belta.by reports.
