A meeting was held with first-year undergraduates of the 2022-2024 academic year at academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives. First of all, the participants of the event honored the memory of the brave soldiers who died on September 12-13, 2022 while preventing large-scale provocations committed by the Armenian armed forces on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border with a minute of silence.

Speaking further, the director general of the institute, academician Vagif Farzaliyev, said that one of the most important areas of integration of science and education is the training of masters in research institutions. According to him, since 2016, the Institute of Chemistry of Additives, like other scientific institutes, has been training personnel at the master’s level: “Master’s training can be considered the threshold of great science. This is due to the fact that masters acquire the skills of scientific research and begin to comprehend the secrets of science. V. Farzaliyev noted that masters at research institutes have direct contact with research laboratories, master synthesis methods, modern methods of physical and chemical analysis: “In doctoral studies, they will be able to independently conduct experiments and solve scientific problems.” He noted that the institute he leads has wide opportunities for young people, all conditions have been created for masters to receive continuous knowledge, and he recommended newly enrolled masters to take advantage of these opportunities.

The executive director of the institute, Dr.Sci.in Chem., Associate Professor Afsun Sujayev said that all students who graduated from the master’s program at the Institute of Chemistry of Additives remained in this research institution and worked in various positions, and many of them have already continued their scientific research at doctoral level. He emphasized that when giving a dissertation topic to undergraduates, supervisors should address very relevant topics, and in the future, research on this topic should be continued in the following areas of science. A.Sujayev stressed that the institute would continue to take such measures as attracting young people, including masters, to science.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute Gunay Ismayilova, Leading Researcher, Ph.D. Nusrat Aliyev gave their recommendations to graduate students.
