Today, at Academician A.Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, full-time and part-time doctoral students and dissertators studying in the specialties “Organic Chemistry” and “Petrochemistry” and engaged in scientific research have passed certification.
Opening the meeting academician Vagif Farzaliyev, General Director of the Institute, said: “One of the main functions of each research institution is the training of highly qualified personnel – Doctors of Philosophy and Doctors of Science. Therefore, every scientific specialist who continues his scientific activity in doctoral and dissertation studies, having completed his scientific work at a high level and received an appropriate academic degree, improves the scientific indicators of the scientific institution where he studies or works, contributes to the development of the country and society as a whole. That is why scientific supervisors should take responsibility for the choice of dissertation topics and the formation of doctoral students and dissertators as high-level scientists and scientific specialists of the future, take into account the modern challenges of world science and the multidisciplinarity of scientific activity”.
3 doctoral students and 1 dissertator on doctor of science preparation, 3 doctoral students and 3 dissertators on PhD preparation took part in the attestation. A summary of the scientific work performed by each doctoral student and dissertator in 2022 was heard, their participation in conferences, published scientific papers were discussed, questions were answered, and proposals and recommendations from members of the Attestation Commission were also heard.
By the decision of the Attestation Commission, doctoral students were recommended to continue their studies in the next academic year, since the work provided for by individual work plans had been completed in full.
V.Farzaiyev also inquired about the problems faced by former doctoral students and dissertators who have completed their studies but have not yet defended, and recommendations were made to speed up the process.
At the meeting, Executive Director, Doctor of Science, Associate Professor Afsun Sujayev, Academic Secretary, PhD Mehpara Safarova, Heads of Laboratory – Doctor of Science, Prof. Parvin Mammadova, PhD, Associate Professor Elkhan Isakov, Head of the Department of Education, PhD Sadagat Shamkhalova made speeches and exchanged views.
