Students of the 2nd course of the “SABAH” group of the Azerbaijan State University of Petroleum and Industry (АSUPI) made an excursion to Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. First, in front of Heydar Aliyev’s Corner of the institute the students observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and took a commemorative photo.
The Chairman of the Organization of Free Trade Unions of the Institute, Associate Professor Elkhan Isakov spoke about the history of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives, directions of scientific activity, fundamental research conducted at the Institute, achievements of outstanding scientists-chemists of Azerbaijan – academician Ali Guliyev and academician Izzat Orujova, who worked at the institute.
Then the students visited the laboratories “Analysis and physical-chemical research of organic compounds and compositions”, “Lubricant compositions”, “Protective organic compounds” and “Polymer compounds with various functions” laboratories where scientific research was carried out, and got to know the working principles of modern physical and chemical devices and carefully observed some experiments.
