Executive Director of Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Afsun Sujayev, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry of Baku State University, Professor Famil Chiragov, leading researchers of the Institute of Physical Problems Svetlana Demukhamedova, Gulnara Akverdieva et al. published important results of scientific research carried out internationally with colleagues from Turkey in the form of article in the “Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics” of the world famous publisher Taylor and Francis with a Q1 impact factor of 5.235 archived in the database “ Web of Science”, (Shahla Tahirli, Fergana Aliyeva, Khalil Senol, Svetlana Demukhamedova, Gulnara Akverdieva, Irada Aliyeva, Sitara Veysova, Nastaran Sadeghyan, Sevilay Gunay, Yavuz Erden, Parham Taslimi, Afsun Sujayev and Famil Chiragov, New complex compounds of nickel with 3-(1-phenyl-2,3-dimethylpyrazolone-5)azopentadione-2,4: synthesis, NBO analysis, reactivity descriptors and in silico and in vitro studies of anticancer activity and biological activity, 2024, January 31, 2024 ., https://doi.org/10.1080/07391102.2024.2309646).

The institute reported that the article is devoted to a detailed study of new azo compounds with potential medicinal effects, the synthesis of their metal complexes and inhibitory activity against enzymes. Molecular docking simulations carried out by the scientists showed that the new compounds formed more stable complexes with hAChE and hBChE than standard drugs, making them a promising candidate for further research in the treatment of cancer and cholinesterase diseases.
