An event dedicated to “February 2 – Youth Day” was held at Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event began with a minute of silence and the playing of the national anthem.
Speaking at the event, the director general of the institute, academician Vagif Farzaliyev, said that according to the Decree signed by national leader Heydar Aliyev on February 2, 1997, February 2 of every year in the country is celebrated as “Youth Day”: “The great leader always paid attention and care to the young people, helped them in all areas for their development. The establishment of this day also became an example of Heydar Aliyev’s care for youth. Let me remind you that Youth Day was celebrated in Azerbaijan for the first time in the CIS and among Eastern European countries. After Azerbaijan, this day began to be celebrated in other CIS and Eastern European countries. By decision of the UN, August 12 was declared World Youth Day only at a conference held in Lisbon from August 8 to 12, 1998.”
V. Farzaliyev noted that all the necessary measures taken to solve the problems of the younger generation in our country, ensuring their participation in the life of society as a worthy class, would lead Azerbaijan youth to a bright future.
Speaking at the event, the executive director of the institute, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Afsun Sujayev said: “We are greatly indebted to Azerbaijan youth. By participation in the 44-day Patriotic War and the anti-terrorist operation, which lasted 23 hours and 47 minutes, our youth, at the cost of their lives and blood, wrote heroic saga in the history of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty. They stood in the front ranks, showing bravery and courage.”
A. Sujayev noted: “Today’s youth is more active. Our youth appreciate the attention and care shown, but also understand their responsibility and try to contribute to the successful implementation of the strategic objectives defined by our state, and the process of transforming our republic into a dynamically developing powerful state “. He called on young scientists to be more active in the future.
Leila Vahidzadeh, a member of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute, made an interesting report dedicated to “February 2 – Youth Day”.
Then the head of the institute’s laboratory, Professor Agigat Javadova, congratulated the young people and gave them valuable advice.
At the end, the most active young people among young scientists and specialists of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives – Majidi Nargiz and Kazimzadeh Shafa were awarded a diploma and a cash prize.
