Important results of scientific research conducted by leading scientists of academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan together with colleagues from Turkey at the international level in the direction of creating new generation inhibitors of some pathological processes in living organisms are published in a scientific article in the journal “Macromolecular Researches” (impact-factor category Q2 2.4) of the world-famous publishing house “Springer Nature”, archived in the database “Web of Science” (Afsun Sujayev, Nastaran Sadeghyan, Parham Taslimi, Namik Kylinch, Musa Akkusha, Burak Ozcelik, Vagif Farzaliev, Saleh Kh. Alvasel and Ilkhami Gulchin, Functionally substituted derivatives of new thiourea and phenylthiourea as potent aldose reductase, α-amylase and α – glycosidase inhibitors: in vitro and in silico studies, 2024, February 19, 2024, https://doi. org/10.1007/s13233-024-00247-9).
The institute reported that scientists created a new generation of inhibitors with effective inhibitory activity against α-glycosidase, α-amylase and AR enzymes, using functionally substituted thiourea and phenylthiourea derivatives. These compounds have the potential of antidiabetic drugs. Because they are selective inhibitors of the above-mentioned enzymes.
