Xiaomi‘s newest top-of-the-line phone is making waves online and in benchmark apps as well. Shortly after its release, the Mi 9 now tops AnTuTu’s chart of best-performing Android phones which was formerly led by ZTE‘s Nubia Red Magic Mars.

According to AnTuTu’s latest chart of Android phones tested within the month of February 2019, the new Xiaomi Mi 9 has an average score of 371849 — the highest so far. The Mi 9 is followed by another new phone from Lenovo, the Z5 Pro GT, with a score above 350000.

The two phones leading AnTuTu’s chart are both powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 processor from Qualcomm. Xiaomi and Lenovo will make their Snapdragon 855-powered units available in the market soon. With the upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Sony Xperia 1, we expect newcomers to join the chart this March.

The rest of the phones in the chart have been untouched, except for the OnePlus 6T which is replaced by the special edition of Xiaomi’s former flagship.

ZTE’s Nubia Red Magic Mars, even though dethroned, holds the title as the fastest 2018 handset. Huawei‘s Mate 20 and Mate 20 X are still part of the group thanks to the Kirin 980 processor, which also powers Honor‘s V20 and Magic 2.

As expected, gaming phones like the ROG Phone from ASUS and Xiaomi’s Black Shark Helo claim their respective positions in AnTuTu’s chart.
