Meetings with famous graduates of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Baku State University have been launched. The first meeting was held with the world famous scientist, Director General of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives of ANAS, Academician Vagif Farzaliyev.
In his opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, PhD, Associate Professor Fuad Karimli said that the main purpose of the event was to organize live meetings with famous graduates to encourage young people – doctoral students, undergraduates and bachelors to science, to hear from them useful career advice for young people. Having told about the life and scientific activity of academician Vagif Farzaliyev, he informed the participants about the cooperation between the Institute of Chemistry of Additives of ANAS and the Faculty of Chemistry.
Speaking at the event, Academician Vagif Farzaliyev spoke about the ways to achieve success in science and education, stressed that the unity of education, science and production is one of the important conditions for the development of the country, gave useful advice to students and answered questions from the participants.
Academician Abel Maharramov, head of the Department of Organic Chemistry of BSU, professors – Musa Bayramov, Gasim Huseynov, Ibrahim Mammadov, Namik Shikhaliyev, Rasim Alosmanov spoke about the high human and scientific qualities of Vagif Farzaliyev, his example to young people, and shared their opinion.
At the end of the event, Vagif Farzaliyev was presented with a hand-made portrait of a first-year student of the faculty, Sabina Ibragimkhalilova.
