Analysts recognized Apple’s dominance in the smartphone market in 2019. The company accounts for 2/3 of the profits of the global smartphone market, according to a study by Counterpoint Research.

Experts have recorded that Apple accounts for 66 percent of profits and 32 percent of revenue for the entire smartphone industry. Samsung comes in second with a big lag, which has 17 percent profit. Counterpoint Research believes that the success of the Korean company is associated with the expansion of the Galaxy A line and the high margin of the Galaxy Note 10 series smartphones.

Chinese brands Huawei, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi are at the forefront of the top. According to analysts, these companies are more likely to work in the segment of budget smartphones. At the same time, Huawei and Xiaomi are trying to monetize the consumer base by offering additional services. Counterpoint Research believes that the introduction of 5G will positively affect the revenue of Chinese brands in 2020.

Global profit from smartphone sales this year fell by 11 percent. Analysts have noticed that consumers are less likely to upgrade premium smartphones, such as the iPhone Xs or Samsung Galaxy Note 10, reports Lenta.
