Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives (IСA) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan will provide scientific support to the “Small Academy”, operating at M.Rakhim secondary school No.7 in Baku. An agreement on this was reached at a meeting held at the Institute on March 15, 2023 with the leadership of the school.
Academician Vagif Farzaliev, director general of the scientific institution, said that it was necessary, together with the school, to form an interest in science among students with innate giftedness, starting from younger age groups: “For a better perception of natural sciences, such as physics, chemistry, biology, which are somewhat difficult to understand, laboratory experiments should be carried out. When teaching a lesson showing experiments, students become interested in and like these subjects. At the same time, any scientific ideas arise on the basis of special interest”.
V. Farzaliyev said that the Republican scientific competition “Scientists of Tomorrow”, held by the Ministry of Science and Education, was of great importance for encouraging schoolchildren to study science: “Within this project, we cooperated with many schools located both in the capital and in the regions, and as a result, projects implemented by students in the laboratories of the institute won these and international knowledge competitions“.
V. Farzaliyev stressed that within the framework of the project “Today’s student – tomorrow’s scientist” being implemented by the institute, scientific cooperation with school No. 7 is also possible, respectively, organizing master classes for students in the presentation of leading scientists -projects and other works.
The director of the school, Konul Tahmazova, said that the “Small Academy” operated in the educational institution, where talented students carried out various scientific projects. She noted that the excursion of the leadership of the Academy and a group of talented students to the Institute of Chemistry of Additives some time ago made a great impression on them and she expressed her gratitude to the leadership of the institute for the opportunities provided.
K.Tahmazova noted that cooperation with the institute was of great interest and that this activity would give a great impetus to the direction of talented students in science in the future.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Director of the Institute, Doctor of Chemical Sciences. Afsun Sujayev, scientific secretary of Ph.D. Mehpara Safarova, chairman of the Trade Union organization of the Institute, Ph.D. Elkhan Isakov and chemistry teacher of school No.7 Saadat Najafova and they exchanged views on various issues.
