At the Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a regular educational seminar was held for young scientists and specialists on the topic “Rules for publishing articles in prestigious journals.”

The executive director of the institute, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Afsun Sujayev, made a presentation and gave a detailed explanation of all stages of the publication process of submitting an article to Elsevier, Springer, Wiley and Taylor & Francis journals, which were archived in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. He noted that seminars held on these topics were of greater importance for young scientists – doctoral students, dissertation students and master’s students. Because in addition to acquiring theoretical knowledge and mastering research skills, they also learnt to write and publish scientific results in the form of articles. He noted that the publication of an article in prestigious journals means expanding the field of scientific activity of a researcher and increasing his scientific level, raising the scientific reputation of the country and strengthening its position.

He emphasized that the failure to accept submitted articles in high-index publications was due to the inability of our specialists to prepare and present their valuable results at a high standard and lack of experience in this field. Considering these problems, in a series of seminars we conducted, we tried to teach potential young researchers about publishing scientific results in prestigious scientific journals and related problems, the process of submitting a scientific article for publication.

A.Sujayev, using specific examples, showed the rules for publishing articles in reputable journals and answered questions.
