The Institute of Chemistry of Additives held a seminar on the topic of “Factors Affecting the Rate of Biodegradation”.
Providing information about the topic of the seminar, the executive director of the institute, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Afsun Sujayev said that the Institute of Chemistry of Additives always prioritized scientific activities aimed at solving environmental problems, the Institute conducts research in various areas, and important fundamental and applied results have been obtained in individual laboratories.According to him, one of the goals of the seminars on environmental education is to discuss the results of the research conducted and to determine a long-term action plan as a continuation of this research.
Then Konul Kahramanova, senior researcher of the laboratory “Cutting Fluid Compositions” of the institute, made an extensive report on the topic. She gave extensive information about what biodegradation is, the factors influencing the rate of biodegradation and experimental studies, the ability of microorganisms to biodegradation in laboratory studies related to the cleaning areas contaminated with various pollutants (oil products, heavy metals, pesticides) by the biophytoremediation method.
At the end K.Kahramanova answered questions from employees on this topic.
