On December 5, 2023, an educational seminar for doctoral and dissertation students was held at Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The scientific secretary of the institute, Associate Professor Mehpara Safarova, in her opening speech, gave information about the seminar program, noting that such seminars were of great importance in terms of familiarizing young people with the results of research conducted in the laboratory.
Next, the leading researcher at the Laboratory of Protective Organic Compounds, Ph.D. in Chemistry Leyla Shahgeldiyeva gave an extensive report on the topic “Synthesis of azomethine derivatives with a sulfamide fragment and the study of their biological activity.” She gave detailed information on new methods for the synthesis of N-substituted aryl sulfonamides, the preparation of sulfonamides containing a highly reactive methylene malononitrile group with sulfonamide nitrogen, the formation of pyrimidine sulfonamides in high yield and answered many questions.
