An event dedicated to the results of the educational and industrial practical training of fourth-year students of Baku State University (BSU) and Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (ASOIU) was held at Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Director General of the Institute, Academician Vagif Farzaliyev, noted in his opening remarks that during the three-month practice, students in separate groups became familiar with the operating principles of devices and equipment, modern methods of physicochemical analysis in the laboratories of the Institute, and closely followed the experiments and participated in scientific seminars organized at the Institute related to the important results of scientific research conducted by employees in priority areas of fine organic synthesis and chemistry of additives.
He noted that a number of measures are being taken to direct talented students interested in science to it: “Thus, in individual laboratories, under the scientific supervision of leading scientists of the institute, students conduct fundamental and practical research on specific topics, and the important results obtained to date are patented, joint articles are prepared, and scientific and technical support is provided for the participation of these students in conferences.”
It was noted that along with fourth-year students, third-year students of the Chemical Engineering Faculty of ASOIU, majoring in Chemical Engineer, also completed practical training in the corresponding laboratories of the ICA during the year. In conclusion, student interns who distinguished themselves with their knowledge, skills and exemplary behavior during the practical training were awarded diplomas and certificates.
