Today, under the joint organization of the Territorial Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists and the Trade Union Organization of Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an commemorative event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held.
Board member of the New Azerbaijan Party, executive director of the institute, Dr. Afsun Sujayev, who made an opening speech at the event, which began with a minute’s silence and the playing of the national anthem said: “The brilliant leader Heydar Aliyev is the greatest historical figure of the Azerbaijani people. He consciously devoted his entire life to the development and formation of our people, nation and state, and saving our country from troubles as a whole. Heydar Aliyev was always devoted to the Azerbaijani people and his glorious life is a big part of the history of Azerbaijan. Independent Azerbaijan is the masterpiece of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. His heart always beat with Azerbaijan. His far-sighted policies led the country, facing the threat of losing independence, from liberation to the progress, and his worthy successor, Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, led our country from the progress to the Great Victory.”
Gunay Ismayilova, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute, spoke at the event: “If we look at today’s Azerbaijan, we can unconditionally say that Heydar Aliyev was a leader who saw the future of independent Azerbaijan 20-30 years ahead. Much can be said about the economic progress achieved in Azerbaijan, the huge projects laid down and the strategic importance of these projects for today’s independent Azerbaijan. But I would like to limit myself to mentioning just one fact: 30 years ago, Heydar Aliyev managed to create a school in Azerbaijan, which served as a base for training national military personnel during the most powerful times of the Soviet regime. The school has become one of the main training centers for the construction of the national army in Azerbaijan. Those who studied at this school 30 years ago are today commanders and generals of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan. Of course, now some may consider the creation of the Jamshid Nakhchivan Military School in 1973 as commonplace as the construction of a factory. But it really took a lot of will, courage and foresight to make this decision.”
Leading researcher of the institute, Ph.D. Nusrat Aliyev shared his interesting memories about the national leader Heydar Aliyev.
