On December 12, 2025, a memorial event dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the death of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held. It was jointly organized by the Territorial Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, and the Trade Union of Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event began with a moment of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the playing of the national anthem.
Speaking at the event, Mehpara Safarova, Scientific Secretary of the Institute, PhD in Chemistry, and Associate Professor, noted that the great leader Heydar Aliyev is a remarkable historical figure raised by the Azerbaijani people. He dedicated his entire life to the development of our people, nation, and state. She emphasized that Heydar Aliyev always held a special affection for the Azerbaijani people, and his honorable life occupies an important place in the history of Azerbaijan. The restoration and development of statehood traditions in Azerbaijan at the end of the 20th century, the strengthening of Azerbaijan’s independence, our country’s confident advancement along the path of dynamic economic development, and the rapid growth of its international reputation were made possible by the effective work of Heydar Aliyev.
Then, the Chairman of the Institute’s Trade Union, PhD in Chemistry, Associate Professor Elkhan Isakov, delivered a report.
In his speech, he said: “Independent Azerbaijan is the masterpiece of the historical figure and great leader Heydar Aliyev. His heart always beat with Azerbaijan. Regardless of the socio-political structure of society, Heydar Aliyev always felt the support of the people and confidently led Azerbaijan forward. Looking at Azerbaijan today, we can unequivocally assert that Heydar Aliyev was a leader who envisioned the future of independent Azerbaijan 20-30 years ahead: Heydar Aliyev attached particular importance to the creation and strengthening of the military education system. It is well known that even during the Soviet period, Heydar Aliyev accomplished valuable work in this important area and created a valuable foundation for training personnel for the national army. The base has become one of the main training centers for the formation of a national army in Azerbaijan.”
The event concluded with speeches from the institute’s staff.
