Another meeting of the Scientific Council of Academician A.Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place today. At the meeting chaired by Professor Parvin Mammadova, the issue of submitting a complex scientific and technical work entitled “Organization of creation and production of special purpose lubricating oils” to the “State Prize in the field of science, technology, architecture, culture and literature” of the Republic of Azerbaijan was discussed.
The director general of the institute, Academician Vagif Farzaliyev, gave detailed information about the presented work: “One of the main directions of the institute’s scientific activity is scientific research aimed at increasing the country’s defense capability.” During the USSR, a series of special purpose lubricating oils was created and produced by the Institute of Chemistry of Additives. One of these oils is motor oil М-16ИХП-3, developed for a special high-power diesel tank T-80, manufactured at the V.O.Malyshev Plant located in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Then analogs of engine oil M-16ИХП-3 and other special purpose lubricating oils were created using Baku base oils and available additives, production was organized in the Special Technological Bureau with pilot production “Ashgar” operating at the institute and 100 tons were presented to Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The mentioned special-purpose motor oils were used in the First Karabakh War.
In connection with the creation of a special high-power diesel of a new generation in 2019, representatives of the V.O.Malyshev Plant were sent to the Institute of Chemistry of Additives, where, in accordance with the requirements of the new engine, they discussed the creation of a new motor oil, better than the motor oil M- 16ИХП-3. In a short time, a new high-quality motor oil was created in accordance with the requirements, and this oil was named M- 16ИХП-3у. Motor oil М-16ИХП-3у was created at the “V.O.Malyshev Plant” with the aim of obtaining the necessary quantity of a prototype for comprehensive tests, the technical conditions of the oil were developed. Motor oil M-16ИХП-3у, created as a result of bench tests conducted on several engines at the V.O.Malyshev Plant, is recognized as high-quality and recommended for use in new generation diesel engines.
Motor oil of special purpose М-16ИХП-3у with the label “Secretno” is protected by a patent of Azerbaijan. The created special motor oil М-16ИХП-3у successfully passed practical tests on the engines of existing tanks in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and according to the test results, the test commission considered the possibility of using M-16ИХП-3у motor oil in tank engines expedient. М-16ИХП-3у motor oil has released the interest of the Ministry of Defense of Pakistan. Vagif Farzaliyev also noted that the results of his research work in the direction of creating special purpose lubricating oils not only satisfy the demand for strategic products and increase the defense capability of our country, but also contribute to the economic development and defense capability of friendly and brotherly countries with which we cooperate.
Professor Parvin Mammadova and Doctor of Technical Sciences Elmira Nagiyeva spoke and expressed their opinion on this issue.
