Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Institute of Chemistry of Additives (ICA) of ANAS has hold the ceremony of awarding the winners of the “Academician Ali Guliyev Prize” and the contest “The Best Scientific Report”, announced among young researchers.
The competition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR).
Opening the event, director of the ICA, academician Vagif Farzaliyev noted that, in recent years at ANAS there have been increased the scientific and social activity of young people and the number of scientists defending dissertations for PhD degrees and doctor of sciences.
V.Farzaliev noted that, the competitions held to attract young scientists and specialists working in the ICA for more serious scientific research have acquired a traditional character. He stressed that, such contests play an important role in the financial support of young researchers, as well as the acquisition of skills in writing scientific reports and articles.
Academician noted that the competition, which is held for the 5th year, gives positive results: every year the number of young people interested in the contest grows, the quality of their scientific reports and presentations impvoves.
Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Famin Salmanov noted that, the competitions create an opportunity for healthy competition among young researchers.
He noted that, in recent years, on the initiative of the leadership of ANAS, the number of scientific competitions among young scientists has increased. It was said that, at the present doctors of science under 35 age are awarded 5,000 manats, young researchers articles of which are published in international prestigious journals, are also rewarded once a year.
Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute, Ph.D. in Chemistry, assistant professor Afsun Sujayev noted that, during the selection of candidates for particular attention is drawn to the relevance of the theme, the level of scientific significance and practical results achieved, the level of responses to questions and research papers published on the topic. He stressed that when selecting the winners of the “Academician Ali Guliyev Prize” and the “Best Scientific Report” competition, transparency of the expert evaluation was strictly observed.
At the event, a member of the Tender Committee, PhD in Chemistry Shahmardan Aliyev spoke about the selection criteria and evaluation of the winners, as well as presentations of the young scientists.
In conclusion, winners were awarded diplomas.
According to the decision of the members of the Expert Council, Mansura Huseynova, doctoral student of Laboratory#10 was awarded the first; Lala Mahmudova junior researcher of Laboratory#7 and Gunay Ismayilova, candidate of Laboratory #3 the second; Khadija Mammadyarova, junior researcher of Laboratory #1 and Aida Yusifova, researcher of Laboratory #11 – the third place; Uduz Jafarova, dissertator of Laboratory #7 was awarded the incentive prize of the contest.
In addition, the candidate for a degree of Laboratory #8 Konul Gahramanova was awarded the ” Academician Ali Guliyev Prize ” for scientific achievements in the past year.
