Important results of joint scientific research conducted by a group of scientists at Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku State University and Bartin University of Turkey within the framework of international cooperation were published in another article in the journal “Chemistry & Biodiversity” of the world famous publishing house “Wiley” with an impact factor of 2.9 in Q2 category “Web of Science” database, an impact factor of 3.9 in the Scopus database (Shahla Tahirli, Nastaran Sadeghyan, Ferghana Aliyeva, Afsun Sujayev, Sevilay Gunay, Yavuz Erden, Namig Shikhaliyev, Savash Kaya, Eda Mehtap Ozden, Famil Chiragov, Avni Berisha, Parham Taslimi, New azo-derivative of β-diketones and its Cu(II), Co(II) Complexes: Synthesis, Theoretical Study and Biological Activity, 2024, e202301861, https://doi.org/10.1002 /cbdv.202301861).
As the institute reported, the article is devoted to a detailed theoretical study of the structure and properties of a new azo-derivative of β-diketones and its complexes with certain metals, including biological activity, using the capabilities of computer chemistry. As a result of research by our scientists, it has been established that the new complexes have an effective inhibitory effect on butyrylcholinesterase and acetylcholinesterase in many pathological processes in living organisms. Cholinesterase inhibitors, which have a medicinal effect on potency, regulate the amount of acetylcholine.
