5G technology has already been commercialized in 10 countries of the European Union. This is evidenced by the latest quarterly report of the European Commission’s 5G Observatory.
Fifth Generation Communication Networks 5G, coupled with Big Data Analysis and the Internet of Things (IoT), are designed to become one of the foundations of the digital economy, the main driving force of which should be artificial intelligence (AI). A certain amount of legacy 3G and 4G network infrastructure will organically be part of the fifth generation 5G mobile networks.
According to the Observatory, at the end of 2019, 5G commercial services were available in 10 EU countries.
Germany, Austria, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Estonia, the United Kingdom and Romania are countries that offer services with this new technology at a commercial level.
