Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota is widely regarded for producing high quality vehicles, and it now looks to add producing robots for its next endeavor, as we are in the early stages of exploring artificial intelligence and its potential. As reported by The Verge, a group of Toyota engineers have created a robot that can shoot free throws successfully with no failure rate.
As seen in the videos above, the robot is pitted against a couple of players from local B-league basketball team Alvark Tokyo, to test out how it does against humans, and to no surprise, the robot’s steady hand, perfect form and consistent motion wins the free throw challenge easily.
While the technology for powering this robot was not revealed, it’s clear that it’s not as sophisticated yet since it only does one command, but executes it perfectly.
