The creators of the Chromium browser, on which Google Chrome is based, announced the end of support for the product on a number of computers. This is reported by the MSPoweruser edition. Deactivation of support for such devices will begin with the release of the new version of Chrome 89. The journalists clarified that such a measure applies only to older PCs running on a number of processors, such as Intel Atom and Celeron M. The authors noted that most chips released after 2005 have support for SSE3. Thus, starting with Chrome 89, the installer will no longer try to install Chrome on legacy devices. It is expected that the change will affect only computers running Windows, since most of the popular operating systems – for example, Android, iOS, macOS – have support for the SSE3 command set, Lenta.ru reports.
