Under the supervision of Professor Parvin Mammadova, Doctor of Chemical Sciences and Head of the Laboratory of Cutting Fluid Compositions at acad.Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of AR, work is underway to synthesize new organic compounds containing various heteroatoms and create cutting fluid compositions based on them.
Kamala Mamedova, a senior researcher and public relations officer at the Institute of Chemistry of Additives, announced this in an interview with AZERTAC. She noted that Parvin Mamedova’s primary research focus was on developing cost-effective, environmentally friendly, low-component, and inexpensive lubricant compositions. This includes studying the chemical composition, structure, and interactions of individual components, developing a technology for producing new lubricants, organizing their industrial production, and implementing their application at various engineering enterprises in the republic. The results of the scientist’s research are reflected in 4 patents received this year.
It was noted that laboratory head Parvin Mammadova was awarded an honorary title by Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences for her scientific achievements.
In 2009, she won the international project “Azerbaijani Intellectuals of the 21st Century” and was awarded a diploma from the Vector-124 International Scientific Center.
In 2013, by decision of the 38th session of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Development Bank in Dushanbe, she won first place and the Islamic Development Bank Prize in the scientific research competition held among 57 participating countries for her research paper “Biological Remediation of Oil-Contaminated Soils in Azerbaijan.” She became the first female scientist in Azerbaijan to receive this award.
Professor Parvin Mammadova has authored a total of 50 inventions.
