The results of joint research of leading scientists from the Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku State University, Baku Engineering University and Virginia Commonwelth University of the United States of America were published in the Journal of the Indian Chemical Society indexed in the Web of Science database (IF 3.2, CiteScore -3.5, quartile-Q3) (Esmira Eyyubova, Famil Chiragov, Faik Musayev, Khalil Nagiyev, Namig Shikhaliyev, Vagif Farzaliyev, Afsun Sujayev, Synthesis, X-ray structural analysis, study of specific electrical conductivity and antioxidant activity of a new compound based on 3-(1-phenyl-2,3-dimethylpyrazolone-5)azopentadione-2,4, Journal of the Indian Chemical Society, 2024, pp. 101473, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jics.2024.101473.).

According to the information provided by the institute, the complex research work is related to the production and detailed study of a new inhibitor that prevents hydrocarbon oxidation. A single crystal of the obtained new compound was grown and its main characteristics were studied. Using X-ray structural analysis, the structure of the synthesized substance was studied, the parameters of the crystal cell were determined and the specific electrical conductivity was calculated.

By studying the antioxidant properties of the compounds synthesized in model reactions, using the kinetic method, it was established that the corresponding complex is an effective inhibitor of hydrocarbon oxidation, and the mechanism of antioxidant action is due to breaking of oxidation chains.
