The results of the research of the group of leading scientists of the Baku State University, the Institute of Chemistry of Additives and Baku Engineering University of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan were published in the journal of the Indian Chemical Society with IF 3.2 (CiteScore -3.5, quartile-Q3), indexed in the Web of Science database (Ulviya Askerova, Namik Shikhaliyev, Abel Maharramov, Khatira Garazadeh, Svetlana Demuhammadova, Gulnara Hakverdiyeva, Irada Aliyeva, Afsun Sujayev, Investigation of halogen interactions in dichlorovinyl diazenes: structural analysis, DFT modeling and molecular modeling, Journal of the Indian Chemical Society, 2024, 101447, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jics. 2024.101447).
In the article there is mentioned that for the last years the indicated research group has about 200 different synthesized dihalogenated vinyldiazines. Most connections of this class are standard “bicycle stop”; corresponded to the structure. As a result of the comparative analysis of scientists and chemists, it was established that the type (conformation) of compounds is the same, but the nature of intermolecular interactions is different. Through theoretical and experimental calculations, it was established that both the nature of substituents and their position in aromatic systems made their own corrections. In this paper, on the example of dihalogenated compounds of vinyldiazine, an algorithm for the connection of the structure of synthesized compounds with the character of non-covalent interactions with the participation of the chlorine atom was also established.
