NASA has demonstrated the first electric aircraft that it has been working on since 2015.

It is specified that there is less than a year before the first test flight in the sky. Maxwell will be the Agency’s first manned aircraft designed in two decades.

NASA has also showed off a newly built simulator that allows engineers and pilots to feel how the finished version of the X-57 will maneuver in flight.

The final modification of the aircraft will have narrower, lighter wings equipped with 14 electric motors.

It is also noted that due to battery limitations, the aircraft will be used for short flights as an air taxi or a commuter aircraft for a small number of passengers, Gazeta reports.
