On April 17-19, 2024, the XIII Republican competition “Scientists of Tomorrow” was held, organized by the Ministry of Science and Education. 652 projects were presented by pupils of IX-XI grades of general education institutions participating in the competition in 8 areas (mathematics, physics and astronomy, chemistry, biology, medicine and healthcare, ecology and environmental management, engineering, computer science), of which 113 projects received the right to participate in the exhibition.
The main goal of the project is to identify talented schoolchildren with research and creative potential, expand connections between higher educational institutions and scientific organizations and secondary schools, as well as ensure interaction of students with peers with similar interests.
The competition’s research papers were assessed according to established criteria. The assessment was carried out by the Scientific Expert Commission of the XIII Republican Competition “Scientists of Tomorrow” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Under the leadership of Konul Kahramanova and Aygun Almammadova,scientific associates of academician A.Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives pupils of the 11th grade of secondary school No.6 of Baku, Kazimova Elmira Mirali kyzy and Mustafazadeh Aisu Jabar kyzy took part in a competition with the theme “Cleaning up oil-contaminated soil and water objects using the biophytoremediation method” and were highly appreciated by the Expert Commission, they were awarded 3rd place – a bronze medal.
