According to the Action Plan of the Presidium of ANAS, in connection with Science Day, celebrated on March 27, the Open Doors Day was organized at academician A.Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of ANAS. In accordance with the agreement reached between the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ICA and Kaspi Educational Center, teachers and students of the senior classes of the Lyceum of the Center were closely acquainted with the Institute. The director of the institute, academician Vagif Farzaliyev in his speech at the meeting with students noted that President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on establishing Science Day in Azerbaijan, taking into account the importance of science in the development of society: “This is both the result of the attention and care of the head of state for Azerbaijani science and integral part of a focused state policy towards the transformation of the science factor into a driving force in the country. Undoubtedly, the establishment of such a day poses more serious tasks for ANAS. ”
According to him, the choice of the date of March 27 as Science Day is not accidental. Since ANAS was founded on March 27, 1945. Characterizing the establishment of the Academy as the most important event in the scientific life of our country, academician V. Farzaliev noted that the Academy of Sciences played an important role at all stages of the development of science: “This center of science contributed to the formation of the intellectual power in our country, integration into world science and the achievement of the most important scientific results. The National Academy of Sciences was directly involved as one of the key performers in the implementation of all state programs on the development of Azerbaijan. ”
He also noted that ANAS made a great contribution to the implementation of science policy in the country, the development of academic science at a new stage and the training of highly qualified personnel in our country.
Having informed about the activities of the organization V. Farzaliyev said that the Institute conducts fundamental research in the field of developing scientific bases for the synthesis of various functional additives, improving the properties of lubricants, fuels and special liquids, developing technology for producing high-quality lubricants and special liquids for various purposes, synthesis and research of physiologically active substances, the identification of new types of raw materials and their effective use. In simple terms, he explained to the students that the high-performance multifunctional additives synthesized at the Institute are used to prevent oxidation, corrosion, wear, scuffing and biological destruction.
Then the students visited the laboratories of the Institute and got acquainted with modern equipment and technology. The Head of the Laboratory of ICA, the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, Doctor of Philosophy Afsun Sujayev and the scientist, Doctor of Philosophy Nazar Nazarov gave information about the instruments for the synthesis and physical and chemical analysis used in the laboratories.
The graduate students of the Institute Lala Aliyeva and Nargiz Majdi demonstrated entertainment experience for schoolchildren.
