The Institute of Chemistry of Additives provides high-level scientific and technical support to “Scientists of Tomorrow”

As is known, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan (IERA), the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan,  Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the BP Azerbaijan Company organized the XII Republican Competition “Scientists of Tomorrow”.

A group of young scientists and specialists of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives (ICA) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the exhibition organized on February 14 for employees of research institutes, school directors, teachers, doctoral students, students and pupils within the framework of the competition, got acquainted with the presentations of scientific projects of schoolchildren and exchanged ideas.

It should be noted that the ICA also provides scientific and technical support to this competition. Thus, an experimental part of the project was carried out by students of the Shirvan city Lyceum of chemical and biological profile, participating in the XII Republican competition “Scientists of Tomorrow”in the laboratory “Physiologically Active Organic Compounds” of the ICA.

According to the information, in 2018, within the framework of the VII Republican competition “Scientists of Tomorrow”, 2 schoolchildren – students of the 10th grade of the secondary school No.251 of the Nizami district completed a scientific project. One of them was selected for the final stage of the international competition “OXEF-2018”, held in Izmir, Turkey, June 4-10, 2018, and won a bronze medal for our country in this Project Olympiad, among  450 participants from 38 foreign countries.

In 2019, 2 more pupils of the 11th grade of secondary school No.251 of the Nizami district, trained as part of the VIII Republican competition “Scientists of Tomorrow”, reached the final stage of the international competition “OKSEF-2019”, held on June 11-16, 2019 in Izmir, Turkey and won. The experimental part of the project was carried out in 2018-2019 in the laboratory “Additives to cutting fluids” of the ICA.

In 2018, 2 pupils of secondary school No.16 named after Samad Vurgun, Mingachevir city, within the framework of the IX Republican competition “Scientists of Tomorrow” in the section “Medicine and Health”, who completed the project “Almond medicinal oil from bitter almonds” in the laboratory “Physiologically active organic compounds” of the Institute  were awarded  Diploma of distinction of the competition.

On November 26, 2021, within the framework of the “International  Scientific  Competition BUCA IMSEF-2021”, held online in the city of Izmir, Turkey, the project of 2 senior pupil  in the field of chemistry passed to the final stage among 166 projects from 27 countries of the world. An innovative project prepared with the ideological support and scientific advice of the ICA was awarded a bronze medal. At the same time, they took part in the XI Republican Olympiad “Scientists of Tomorrow”, which was held in 2022 in the “Chemistry” section, and took III place.
