This year, the Nobel Committee, following its tradition, will announce the names of outstanding scientists who have been awarded the Nobel Prize for important discoveries in various fields of science at the beginning of October 2023.
According to the official website of the committee www.nobelprize.org, the names of the Nobel Prize laureates of 2023 will be announced on the days of “Nobel Week” from October 2 to 9. The names of the laureates will be announced live on nobelprize.org.
First, on October 2, the Swedish Karolinska Institute will announce the name of the winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine. The name of the laureate in physics will be announced by the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences on October 3, and the name of the candidate in chemistry will be announced on October 4. On October 5, the name of the literature candidate will be announced by the Swedish Academy. On October 6, the name of the candidate for the peace prize will be announced by the Swedish Nobel Institute in Oslo.
The name of the scientist who will be awarded the Sveriges Riksbank prize in the field of economic sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel will be announced by the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences in Stockholm on October 9.
Currently, the Nobel Prize fund is 1.12 million US dollars (9 million Swedish kroner).
It should be noted that the award ceremony is held annually on December 10 in the capitals of Sweden and Norway, on Alfred Nobel’s birthday.
Prizes in the field of physics, chemistry, physiology and medicine, literature and economics are awarded by the King of Sweden in Stockholm, and the prize in the field of peacekeeping is awarded in Oslo by the chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in the presence of the King of Norway and members of the royal family.
