Within the framework of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, talented and active students of Baku schools who went on an excursion to Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan were awarded. Reporting this at a meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute, held on January 11, 2024, Executive Director, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Afsun Sujayev said that students of secondary school No.192 of the Sabunchu District visited the institute and were carefully familiarized with modern physical and chemical instruments and scientific research carried out in laboratories: “Unlike students of other schools, Aysel Seyidova and Zeynab Guliyeva, 8th grade students of this school, made an interesting presentation about prominent scientists of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives – academicians Ali Guliyev and Izzat Orujeva. We decided to evaluate them to increase their interest in science.”
Then the students were awarded diplomas.
At the meeting of the Academic Council, doctoral students and dissertators who were continuing their studies were certified. A.Sujayev stated that the current stage of updating the development of science must be adapted to the modern requirements of the world and the new realities created in our country: “For this, qualitative changes are taking place towards increasing efficiency in the field of high technologies. Great importance should be attached to the training of qualified personnel in research institutions, including the Institute of Chemistry of Additives. From this point of view, every specialist who continues his scientific work in doctoral and dissertation studies at a high level and receives an appropriate academic degree brings benefit to the institute in which he works, and at the same time to our country, state and society as a whole. You should not treat defending your dissertation as your personal matter. This is also a common problem.” He noted that the management of the institute would always support young people; they would be provided with material, technical and informational support.

Then plans for the annual activities of the institute’s laboratories and scientific seminars for 2024 were approved, including the updated composition of the Expert Council, and disciplinary issues were discussed.
