On September 5, 2024, a meeting of the Scientific Council in an expanded format was held at the Institute of Chemistry of Additives (ICA) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Executive Director of the Institute, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Afsun Sujayev, who opened the meeting with an opening speech, said that the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan determined additional monthly payments for scientific activities: “The goal is to increase the efficiency of research conducted in research institutions and stimulate the publication of the obtained results in the form of articles in prestigious journals around the world. It is gratifying that among the scientists there are the ICA employees who are distinguished by scientometric criteria and receive additional monthly payments. But their number is only 4. We want all our scientists to be among our scientists whose scientific activities are distinguished and who receive additional funding”.
A.Sujayev noted that in order to improve the quality of scientific research conducted in individual laboratories, it was necessary to attach importance to priority areas and publish fundamental results in journals included in the Web of Science and Scopus databases: “This requires multidisciplinary topics and it is necessary to prioritize joint research with international research groups”. He emphasized that the institute has achieved important scientific results in both fundamental and applied fields, but they need to be expanded.
He noted that measures to control attendance at work at the institute will be strengthened, and stated the need to provide employees with appropriate work in accordance with the daily activity plan.
