The preliminary discussion of the Ph.D. dissertation in chemistry was held at the Institute of Chemistry of Additives

A meeting of the Academic Council with a wide composition was held at academician A.Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives (ICA) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the Academic Council, a preliminary discussion was organized on the dissertation of Zubeyda Tarlan kyzy Israfilova, a former doctoral student at the institute, on the topic “Synthesis and functional properties of new organic compounds containing a thiocyanate group” for the degree of PhD in petrochemistry 2314.01.

In a discussion chaired by Doctor of Technical Sciences, head of the laboratory Elmira Nagiyeva, applicant Israfilova Z. gave extensive information about the important scientific achievements she obtained during research in the direction of the synthesis of new substances based on a phase-transfer catalyst, she noted that the resulting substances have fundamental scientific and applied importance, have antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. She also answered numerous questions.

The main results of Z.Israfilova’s research on this topic were published in journals with a high impact factor and confirmed by 1 patent.

During the discussion, the reviewers – Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor P.Mammadova and PhD, Associate Professor E.Hasanova emphasized the relevance and importance of the work, expressed their comments and suggestions on the topic.

Scientific supervisor of the applicant, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Professor A.Sujayev, provided information about the personal qualities of Israfilova Z., noting that she is very hardworking and talented, conducts research in the laboratories of the institute, and that the level of knowledge she has demonstrated allows her to receive an appropriate scientific degree.

Members of the Academic Council M.Safarova, A.Mammadova, Y. Ramazanova, N.Aliyev and S.Mammadova expressed their opinions and recommendations regarding the dissertation work.
