On March 30, 2023, an educational seminar was held for a group of fourth-year students of the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry in specialty Chemical Engineering, who are undergoing work practice at academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Executive Director of the Institute, Doctor of Chemistry Afsun Sujayev, speaking about the program of the seminar, noted that such seminars are of great importance in terms of familiarizing university students undergoing practice with the results of research conducted on relevant topics in individual laboratories. It also orients students in the right direction by creating an interest in science.
A.Sujayev noted that each laboratory should have provided students who received practical skills in it with extensive information about famous Azerbaijani scientists who conducted scientific research in this area, so that the growing youth would know outstanding scientists.
Then the leading researcher of the laboratory “Multifunctional organic compounds based on alkylphenols”, Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry, Associate Professor Ali Gadirov made a report on the topic “Synthetic aviation oils based on esters, antioxidant additives and their mechanism”. He spoke about the creation of high-temperature-resistant synthetic oil oxidation inhibitors, the development of methods for the synthesis of these inhibitors containing nitrogen, sulfur, boron, silicon atoms and various functional groups in the molecule, and the study of their mechanism of action. He gave clear information about the preparation of lubricant compositions resistant to high temperatures (200-240ºC) based on synthetic essential oils for gas turbine engines with the use of additives, works performed in the world, in Azerbaijan, including in his laboratory, where there were important scientific results, as well as about our famous scientists in this field.
