Scientific relations of scientists of academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the University of Lisbon in Portugal are expanding. Thus, another article by the researcher of the Institute Ibadulla Mahmudov, related to the important results obtained in the course of research conducted in the framework of international cooperation with colleagues from the above universities, was published in the prestigious foreign journal “New Journal of Chemistry” (New Chemical Journal) (https://pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/ArticleLanding/2023/NJ/D3NJ01120H).

The scientific work is devoted to the synthesis, study of the structure and application of Co(II/III), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes with pyrazole-functional 1,3,5-triazopentadiene in the oxidation of styrene to benzaldehyde. As a result of the research, new metal complexes were obtained, their X-ray structure was studied in detail, all complexes were tested as catalysts for the peroxidation of styrene to benzaldehyde.

The journal which publishes fundamental and experimental innovations resulting from research conducted by world scientists in new areas of chemistry, is archived in the Web of Science database and has an impact factor of 3.925.

For information,  I.Mahmudov practiced at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, under the guidance of well-known scientists of this scientific center from Azerbaijan, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Kamran Makhmudov and Ph.D. Atash Gurbanov. Until now, he has been conducting scientific and experimental research on the synthesis and study of physiologically active compounds based on pyrazoles, N-benzyl-, N-allylanilines and their metal complexes. Based on his results, 3 articles were published in a prestigious foreign journal with a high impact factor, 2 articles are in print.
