The Institute of Chemistry of Additives of ANAS will cooperate with the Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

The results of joint project competitions organized  by the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus are announced. One of the winners is a project designed for 2018-2020 titled “Synthesis, chemical modification of biologically active substances and the creation on their basis of biologically active additives and drugs” headed by academician Vagif Farzaliyev – Director of academician A. Guliyev  Institute of Chemistry of Additives and Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Biochemistry of Biological Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Biological Sciences, assistant professor Lilia Ivanovna Nadolnik.

Academician V.Farzaliyev, the head of the project in Azerbaijan, reported on the project and noted that interesting studies have been recently conducted in the field of chemistry of heterocyclic compounds. “Apparently, this is due to the fact that now these compounds are more widely applied  in various fields of medicine, engineering, industry and agriculture. In the world literature there are also numerous scientific studies on this issue. However, among the literature data there is no information on the synthesis and transformation of biologically active substances consisting of functionally substituted triazinthiones  by using various catalysts and detailed study of their biological activity by various and comparative methods. Taking into account this need, the synthesis and research of the functional properties of new nitrogen and sulfur-containing biologically active substances that can be used in medicine and the creation of new, more effective biologically active additives and medicines on their basis was chosen as a fundamental scientific idea. ”

The academician noted that within the framework of the joint project in 2018-2019, together with the selected international organization, systematic studies will be carried out in the field of the synthesis of new biologically active compounds, the study of the effect of their composition and structure on their biological activity, the creation of biologically active additives and drugs on their bases.
