In connection with the Green World Solidarity Year an excursion of creative young people to the Institute of Chemistry of Additives was organized

A number of events related to the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 25, 2023 “On declaring 2024 as the Green World Solidarity Year ” in the Republic of Azerbaijan are planned at Academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. One of such events is the organization of schoolchildren’s excursion to the Institute of Chemistry of Additives to acquaint them with the scientific work carried out in this research institute in the direction of solving environmental problems and improving the environment.
This time, the members of the “Multi Science” Association of the State-Legal Entity “Center for the Development of Children and Youth No.3” of the city of Baku visited academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
First, the schoolchildren honored the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev with a minute of silence in front of the “Heydar Aliyev Corner” of the institute and took a commemorative photo.
Then the management of the institute held a meeting with the them in the assembly hall of the institute. Welcoming the guests at the meeting, the executive director of the institute, doctor of chemical sciences, professor Afsun Sujayev said that on November 11-24 this year, the prestigious event COP29 (Conference of Parties) would be held in Azerbaijan. Along with that, according to the order of the President of Azerbaijan, Mr.Ilham Aliyev, 2024 was declared “The Green World Solidarity Year”. Because the main goal of the above-mentioned global event and the all-republican green movement was the minimization of ecological problems and the improvement of the environment: “One of them is familiarizing you with scientific projects aimed at solving environmental problems.”
A.Sujayev gave detailed information about the main results of scientific research conducted by scientists of the institute, related to the cleaning of oil-contaminated territories, the creation of technologies for the regeneration of used oils and additives created by the Baku Oil Refinery Plant for the processing of acid tar, which occupied large areas in Balakhany, and answered the questions of the schoolchildren.
Schoolchildren watched a video about outstanding scientists-chemists of Azerbaijan who worked at the institute and are currently working – academicians Ali Guliev, Izzat Orujeva, Vagif Farzaliyev and Kamil Sadykhov.
The schoolchildren visited the laboratories of the nstitute, familiarized themselves with modern physical and chemical devices and equipment, and conducted scientific experiments.
