The next educational seminar for young scientists and researchers (masters, doctoral students and dissertators) was held at academician Ali Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
First, the participants of the seminar observed a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the devastating earthquake that occurred in Türkiye on February 6. Speaking at the event, the executive director of the institute, Dr.Sci.Chem. Afsun Sujayev, said that the Azerbaijani people were on the side of their Turkish brothers in these difficult days, all the employees of the institute provided all possible assistance. In the end, he expressed his condolences to the families of the people who died in the brotherly country and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
Then Hajar Behbudova, junior researcher of the laboratory “Cutting Fluid Compositions” of the institute, made a presentation on the topic “Crown ethers, production, nomenclature and application.” The report provided detailed information on the scientific research carried out by scientists, including our scientists working at the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry and the Institute of Chemistry of Additives, in the direction of the synthesis, research and application of crown ethers, which are a hot topic of fine organic chemistry, as well as the prospects for scientific research in this direction in the near future. At the end of her presentation, she answered questions.
