Academician A.Guliyev Institute of Chemistry of Additives (ICA) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan closely cooperates with the Baku State University (BSU) in the direction of integrating science and education. As part of this cooperation, starting from February 24, 2023, fourth-year students of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Baku State University will have an internship in the laboratories of this research institution for 3 months.
At the meeting with students, the director general of the institute, academician Vagif Farzaliyev noted that the scientific institution he headed closely cooperated with higher educational institutions of our country, including Baku State University. During a three-month practice in separate groups, students will get acquainted with the principles of operation of instruments and equipment, modern methods of physical and chemical analysis, and will also carefully follow some experiments in the laboratories of the institute. During the internship, students will be involved in scientific research by the institute’s researchers on the basis of a program prepared for them, and will also have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in real work conditions.
Professor Ibrahim Mammadov, head of the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Technology of BSU, who took part in the meeting, stressed that the level of cooperation between the faculty and ICA was satisfactory, and that many employees of the institute were involved as teachers in the educational process of students and graduate students. He spoke about the need to introduce a number of innovations in the organization of promising activities of the basic department, the educational process, and the practical training of students in the coming academic years.
I.Mammadov expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives for the care and attention they showed to students.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Director of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives, Associate Professor Afsun Sujaev, Scientific Secretary Mehpara Safarova, Chairman of the Free Trade Union Organization Elkhan Isakov, Head of the Education Department Sadagat Shamkhalova, who expressed their views and suggestions.
At the meeting, an exchange of views took place, answers were given to students’ questions.
